Plan of Study for
Minor in Art History

Program Requirements

Students not majoring in the Department of Art may earn an Art History minor with the completion of:

Program Notes

The Minor in Art History Program of Study is flexible as long as the prerequisites are followed.

Required Courses

Summer Courses

Although this is not guaranteed, the Art History survey courses are often offered during both summer sessions. Advanced art history courses are sometimes offered during the summer and as part of study abroad programs.

Advising

Students should seek formal advising from their advisor in the major but are encouraged to contact any of the art historians with specific questions about the Art History minor.

It is highly recommended that the two art history survey courses (ART 2030 & ART 2130) would be taken first and in this sequence. ART 4030 is a capstone course and should be taken toward the end of your academic program.

In planning their course of study, students should be mindful of the fact that most advanced art history courses have pre-requisites.

More information on each course is available in the Undergraduate Academic Bulletin.

Plan of Study

This chart plots a program that enables students to complete their minor requirements in six semesters. Individual plans of study may vary.
