Maurice Meilleur teaches typography, design semiotics, and information design. He has contributed numerous type and book reviews to Typographica and Fonts in Use, and he is writing a book on the history and principles of modular lettering and type. His experimental modular typeface Kast was a jury finalist in the Society of Typographic Aficionados’s 2016 protoType competition. Presently he is developing Kast into paper, photographic, print, and digital artifacts as part of a larger exploration of typographic representation. He earned his MFA in graphic design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
