Art for Non-Majors

The Department of Art offers art courses that are specifically designed for non-art majors. These Art Fundamentals courses are studio based introductions to the structural elements of art, the organizational principles of art and the perceptual effects of two and three dimensional design. A course on Drawing is also included in this program.

Students from majors outside the department may take Art History courses as part of their general education requirements, or to supplement their own studies in a particular area. Students from diverse disciplines, including English, anthropology, history, interdisciplinary studies, religion/philosophy, and education, have found the study of art history to be an integral component of their studies.
