Learning about art and design in a classroom or studio can certainly prepare you for life after college, but there is no substitute for experiencing art in person. Our students have traveled far and wide to enhance their learning experience and be exposed to works of art and design across the country and around the world. Art department faculty regularly take students on regional and national trips to introduce them to the diverse world of art.
One place our students always go is New York. Every year, faculty take students there to visit galleries, museums and artist’s studios. Appalachian’s New York Loft provides students with low cost accommodations and easy access to other opportunities including visits to galleries and museums, graphic design consultancies, and studios of practicing artists.
