Andrew Caldwell to speak at Art Department Colloquium on February 4
January 28, 2019
Andrew Caldwell, Assistant Professor of Commercial Photography, will present Tales from Andyland at the next Art Department colloquium on Monday, February 4 at 11 am in Wey 208.
What is Andyland? It’s like the real world, only stranger and more interesting. It’s about owning your weirdness. It’s about following your passions. It’s about the way your art can teach you about yourself and help you process your experiences. It’s about being and staying insanely curious. It’s about devotion to craft and technique. It’s about bridging gaps. It’s about finding joy in the midst of pain. It’s about stopping and staring with childlike wonder. It’s about hard work and failure. It’s about dreaming. It’s about recognizing how our uniqueness makes us more alike than we could ever imagine. It’s about having fun and not taking yourself too seriously. It’s about finding career satisfaction through your art. It’s also about photography, digital image manipulation, drones, linear perspective and most importantly, telling stories.
