IlaSahai Prouty will be our next Art Department Colloquium presenter on Monday, November 4 at 11am in Wey Hall, Room 208.

Prouty will discuss her project, A Social Construction (including Paper Bag Test and The Reconstitution Readings), which asks questions about race and skin tone, and reframes race as a complex social construction, as opposed to reductive scientific one. Recently, she has been working on how the body is involved in this work, and is seeking ways to deepen emotive connections between the artist, the work and the audience.
